One Way ANOVA: An introduction

 Introduction

A one-way ANOVA (“analysis of variance”) compares the means of three or more independent groups to determine if there is a statistically significant difference between the corresponding population means.

Steps of ANOVA.

Step 1: Calculate the mean of each group along with the overall mean.

Step 2: Calculate the correction term (Cx)

Step 3: Calculate the sum of squares of total (SST).

Step 4: Calculate the sum of squared between or among the groups (SSA)

Step 5: Calculate the sum of squares within the group (SSw)

Step 6: Mean score of squares among the groups (MSSA)

where k = number of groups

Step 7: Mean sum of squares within the group (MSSW)

Step 8: F ratio
